FAQs

Q:How are the winning numbers drawn?

A:Winning numbers are picked using a Random Number Generating Program built specifically for Give Through Golf. Our state-of-the-art program ensures the selection of completely random numbers without any bias or room for error.

Q:Can I support multiple charities with one purchase?

A:Of course! In fact, we encourage it. You can browse multiple charities, add numerous golf balls to your shopping cart, and check out when you’re ready. After your purchase is complete, you will receive an email with your ball numbers and their corresponding charity events.

Q:Is there a limit to the number of balls I can buy?

A:No. You can purchase as many balls as you would like! Remember, the proceeds are going to a great cause!

Q:What about taxes and IRS rules?

A:The winner shall be responsible for any and all federal, state and local income or excise taxes, fees, assessment, and like charges associated with the prizes. The vehicle winner shall be responsible for any and all state or local license, title and registration fees associated therewith.

Q:Is my ball purchase tax deductible?

A:The IRS has taken the position that amounts paid for chances to participate in raffles, lotteries or similar programs are not gifts and, therefore, the price of the entry does not qualify as a deductible charitable contribution, though it may be deductible under other sections of the Internal Revenue Code.

All federal, state and local laws and regulations apply.

Q:How will I be notified if I win?

A:The winner of a prize will be announced in the animation, on the website and by telephone, email and/or mail. The Winner need not be present to win. The Winner will be posted on www.givethroughgolf.com within the week following an event end-date.

The player is responsible for determining the legality of Internet raffles in the player’s place of residence or location from where the player is accessing the website and abiding by those laws. The Website and its management will not be held liable if the laws of your locale prohibit this type of activity.

All federal, state and local laws and regulations apply. Void where prohibited by law.

Ball Drop

A maximum number of golf balls will be sold for the price of $20 (US) each online or by phone. All golf ball purchases are final and non-refundable. The specific numbers of the golf balls purchased for the Virtual Ball Drop will be generated at the time of the sale and forwarded via email to the purchaser-provided email address.

Winners will be determined using a random number generator program and be inserted into a custom animation to be viewed online, or at an accompanying event. The random number generator program will be run to determine the winner of the prizes. Four (4) numbers, in total, will be generated to determine, in the order of the number generated, first (1st), second (2nd), third (3rd) and fourth (4th) place winners. In the event the original prize-winner cannot be located after a period of 30 days as provided below or should the prize winner refuse the prize within the same period, Give Through Golf will generate an entirely new number using Give Through Golf rules and our random number generator. The random number generator program will be created by one party and verified by another party. The determination of the prize-winner will be audited by various representatives who will attest to the winning results. The results will be sealed and kept by an independent third party. Using third party verification, Give Through Golf will then customize our ball drop animation to include the winning number(s). The animation will only be available on the determined event end-date and viewable via web-link.
