I had the pleasure of working with Give Through Golf in coordination with one of the biggest Charity events of our calendar year! The innovative platform was easy to use and best of all there was no upfront cost for us to get up and running with our own custom web page. They are real professionals and were always available if we had problems. With their help, our event was a huge success. People loved the animation, and even applauded at it’s conclusion! Now, especially when raising funds is harder than ever, I highly recommend Give Through Golf’s program.

Coach Kuhl Classic to benefit the Alzheimer’s and Dementia Alliance of Wisconsin

Trappers Turn Golf Club in Wisconsin Dells will play host to the Coach Kuhl Classic Golf Outing to benefit the Alzheimer’s & Dementia Alliance of Wisconsin. The event will take place on Saturday, October 9, 2010.

May 20, 2010

I recently found out that my High School Football Coach, and Phys Ed Teacher, Fred Kuhl, was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. It has been many year’s since I graduated, but I still think of Coach Kuhl and the many life lessons he taught me. The news hit me hard, but allowed me to reflect on the impact he made in my life and the lives of others.

Coach Kuhl is tough, but fair. He is inspiring and thoughtful. He is a coach, an educator, and a father figure. You might not always agree with him, but you always respect him.

I now have the privilege of coaching high school football in Arizona. In 2006 we won the 4A Division Two State Championship with a 15-0 record. I tell you this only because the evening before our State Championship game, a nervous and stressful night, I received a call from Coach Kuhl. First, he congratulated the team and me on our accomplishments. Then he proceeded to prepare me mentally and emotionally for the big game. There he was, all those years later, still coaching, still mentoring, still caring. I will never be able to put into words what that phone call meant to me.

With the help of the Kuhl family, along with countless former students and friends, we have decided to hold a golf event honoring Coach Kuhl and benefiting the Alzheimer’s and Dementia Alliance of Wisconsin. This golf event is intended to unite the huge community of former football players, students, teachers and overall in helping those affected by Alzheimer’s disease or related dementia. Ladies and Gentlemen, we introduce the Coach Kuhl Classic!

Whether you golf or not, you can still contribute to the Coach Kuhl Classic Golf Event and Virtual Ball Drop. Show your support and buy a ball today. As Coach always says, “You should be a better human being for having participated”.

Chris Frederiksen
Offensive Tackle, Class of 1979

Fred Kuhl started his football coaching career at Fall River in 1960. He moved on to Poynette in 1962, Lakeland High School in 1964 and then spent twenty years at Wisconsin Dells. In 1986 he moved to Rhinelander, where he retired in 1991. Fred and Mary currently reside in Baraboo, Wisconsin.

It is time to make a positive impact on the lives of others. Show your support by purchasing a golf ball for the Virtual Ball Drop.

Partners in Education provides grants for before and after school Kid’s Clubs, the Artists in Residency program, and Save One Student (SOS) scholarships that enable our neediest students to attend preschool and K-12 enrichment classes.

All on-line entries must be in by 5pm May 15, 2010. Ball purchases can also be made by check sent to Chip In for the Kids-FCF, 34250 N. 60th Street, Bldg. The Golf Club Scottsdale is unencumbered by homes as it winds its way through saguaro forests. The beautiful clubhouse is a great venue for the after tournament celebration.
Give Through Golf launches Virtual Helicopter Ball Drop designed to help Charities increase charitable giving.

GIVE THROUGH GOLF LAUNCHES VIRTUAL HELICOPTER GOLF BALL DROP DESIGNED TO HELP CHARITIES INCREASE CHARITABLE GIVING

(Scottsdale, AZ – February 2, 2010) Scottsdale-based Give Through Golf™ is launching an innovative new concept developed to help Charities increase donations. The Give Through Golf Virtual Helicopter Golf Ball Drop™ (www.givethroughgolf.com) utilizes a one-of-a-kind Web-based platform, custom animation and a Random Number Generating Program to offer Charities and donors a unique, fun, interactive way to generate additional revenue. It was created to take the place of traditional golf ball drops, which can be difficult and expensive to plan and execute. A key benefit of The Virtual Ball Drop is that the Charity incurs no upfront expenses; they get their own customized Web page and have the potential to generate up to $300,000, or more, for their Charity.

How it Works:

After Give Through Golf and a Charity engage, the Give Through Golf team will create a customized Web page for that Charity. For up to 90 days prior to the Virtual Golf Ball Drop, the Charity will market the event and lead potential donors to their Web page where they can purchase as many virtual golf balls as they’d like at a cost of $20.00 per ball. Each ball is numbered, and donors receive their corresponding number(s) via e-mail. Donors can check the Web page whenever they choose to track activity and stay up to date on the event. At the predetermined time donors will be able to see a virtual helicopter, filled with golf balls hover over a green and drop the balls. The grand prize winner is the donor whose golf ball is resting at the bottom of the cup; subsequent 2nd, 3rd and 4th place winners are also awarded prizes. A key benefit of The Virtual Golf Ball Drop is that it can be enjoyed live at a golf tournament dinner or from the comfort of a donors own home. It works equally well tied into existing events and golf tournaments or as a stand-alone event.
“As someone who has planned a number of traditional Helicopter Golf Ball Drops, they are very difficult to implement; it is often hard to find a helicopter and pilot willing to do them; weather conditions can postpone or prevent the event and the weight of the golf balls limits the number of balls that can be sold. Also, there is often damage to the green as a result of having 10,000 balls dropped on it and the cost of liability insurance can be prohibitive,” said Dave Bisbee, a partner in Give Through Golf. “Our goal was to create an alternative that still captured the fun and excitement of the traditional Golf Ball Drop, but could be conducted free from all the potential problems. We also wanted to create an event that would be green—no damage to the course—no fuel consumption—and virtually no carbon footprint. We’ve been able to achieve all these goals with the Virtual Ball Drop, while creating an additional revenue stream for Charities with no upfront costs.”
Give Through Golf is looking to develop other virtual programs that would continue their efforts to help Charities raise money for their organizations.
